Brothers and Sisters:
On Sunday March 8, John and Sarah Scamardella attended a big family dinner. Two days later, they came to midweek service on Tuesday March 10. One of the relatives at the family dinner had been exposed to someone who later tested positive for the virus. A few days ago, this relative tested positive, so John and Sarah were called in to be tested.
While they are awaiting the test results, the Scamardellas have quarantined themselves in their home for the next 10 days. Let’s be praying for them and their relatives!
***FOR EVERYONE WHO ATTENDED THE MIDWEEK SERVICE ON TUESDAY MARCH 10*** Please consider the following:
We called the NY Department of Health and explained this situation and asked for the directions we needed to pass on to all of you. Here is what we were told:
Because the results of the Scamardella’s tests have not YET come back positive:
1. We CANNOT make an appointment to the drive thru testing center.
2. If you are particularly concerned and want to be tested, you MUST get a prescription from your doctor
3. They said for all of us to self quarantine for 14 days after the contact (unless the tests come back negative)—the contact was Tuesday night March 10, so if we do not become symptomatic by Tuesday night March 24, we should be in the clear.
IF however, the Scamardella’s tests come back POSITIVE, then we all (and possibly your immediate family) need to call the number below and set up an appointment to go to the SI Corona Virus Drive-thru Testing
Center. Here is the info:
